TLP Calls For A Countrywide Shutter-Down Strike On 27 Feb

Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has called for a nationwide shutter down strike on February 27 (today) to protest rising inflation.

TLP chief Saad Rizvi said in a statement that a nationwide strike will be held on Monday across the country.

Rizvi claimed that the entire country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, will support the TLP’s strike call (AJK). He went on to say that the TLP is speaking out for Pakistanis’ rights.

He stated that the TLP was forced to call the strike due to the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and petroleum products. He urged nationals to support the TLP’s strike call in order to end inflation.

According to Abdul Rauf Ibrahim, chairman of the wholesale grocers association, Karachi’s main markets, including Jorya Bazaar and adjacent markets, will remain open.

He also stated that they will support the anti-inflation protest but will not close the markets.
